Acceptable Use Policy
What is not allowed on the platform, and what happens if you do it.
This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaching it is a material breach of those Terms.
It applies to everyone who uses the Service: customers, their team members, and anyone who publishes or submits content through a site built on Postlyo. Customers are responsible for their Users’ and Visitors’ compliance.
1. The principle
Do not use Postlyo to break the law, harm people, deceive people, or damage the Service or other customers. Everything below is an application of that principle, not a limit on it.
2. Prohibited content
You must not publish, host, store, transmit or link to content that:
2.1 Is illegal or facilitates crime
- Violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Depicts, promotes or facilitates the sexual exploitation or abuse of children. Zero tolerance — we report this to law enforcement and the relevant reporting body, and terminate immediately without notice.
- Depicts or incites terrorism or violent extremism, or provides material support to a designated organisation.
- Facilitates human trafficking, or the sale of controlled substances, weapons, stolen goods or counterfeit items.
- Facilitates fraud, money laundering, or the evasion of sanctions or export controls.
2.2 Harms people
- Incites, threatens or glorifies violence against any person or group.
- Attacks or demeans people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or immigration status.
- Harasses, bullies, stalks, or coordinates harassment of any individual.
- Encourages self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating.
- Publishes another person's private information without consent — home address, personal phone number, government identifiers, financial account details, private communications, or precise location.
- Publishes intimate images of a person without consent.
2.3 Deceives
- Impersonates any person or organisation, or falsely implies affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement.
- Is fraudulent — phishing pages, fake stores, fake support sites, investment or cryptocurrency scams, and get-rich-quick schemes.
- Contains material misrepresentations designed to induce reliance to someone's detriment.
- Misrepresents health, medical or financial information in a way likely to cause harm.
2.4 Infringes rights
- Infringes copyright, trade mark, patent, trade secret, moral, privacy or publicity rights.
- Circumvents technological protection measures, or distributes tools for doing so.
2.5 Is otherwise prohibited
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material, and material that is obscene under applicable law.
- Malware, ransomware, spyware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage or gain unauthorised access to a system.
- Gambling, lotteries or contests where prohibited or unlicensed in the jurisdictions you reach.
- Regulated activity you are not licensed to conduct — including the sale of pharmaceuticals, financial services, and legal or medical advice presented as professional advice.
3. Prohibited conduct
3.1 Against the Service
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other customers' accounts or data, or any connected system.
- Probing, scanning or testing the vulnerability of the Service, or breaching its security measures — except as expressly permitted under our Security Policy.
- Interfering with or disrupting the Service — denial-of-service attacks, flooding, or deliberately generating excessive load.
- Circumventing usage limits, rate limits, billing controls, access controls, or tenant isolation.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling the Service, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits notwithstanding this restriction.
- Scraping or harvesting data from the Service or other customers' sites at a scale that burdens the infrastructure, or contrary to a site's robots.txt.
- Using the Service to build or train a competing product or service.
- Reselling, sublicensing, or providing the Service to third parties other than by operating your own Sites.
3.2 Around accounts and billing
- Creating accounts by automated means, or maintaining multiple accounts to evade limits, pricing, suspensions or bans.
- Using false identity or billing information, or a payment method you are not authorised to use.
- Abusing trials, coupons or promotional pricing, including by creating repeat accounts to obtain repeat trials.
- Sharing account credentials rather than adding team members as Users.
3.3 Around messaging and traffic
- Sending unsolicited bulk email or messages, or using the Service to support a spam operation conducted elsewhere.
- Collecting email addresses without consent, or sending to purchased or scraped lists.
- Link schemes, cloaking, doorway pages, hidden text, or other practices that violate search engines’ published guidelines. These risk deindexing not only your site but the shared platform domain, which harms every other customer.
- Artificially inflating advertising impressions or clicks, or otherwise violating the terms of any advertising network you enable.
3.4 Around data and privacy
- Processing personal data through the Service without a lawful basis.
- Deploying analytics, advertising or other tracking technologies on your Site without obtaining consent where the law requires it. See our Cookie Policy.
- Enabling behavioural advertising on a Site directed at children.
- Uploading special category data (health, biometric, political, religious, sexual orientation and similar) without a valid lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.
- Failing to publish an accurate privacy policy on a Site that collects personal data.
- Supplying credentials for a third-party service you are not authorised to use, or importing content you do not have the right to import.
4. Your obligations as a site operator
If you run a Site with comments, contact forms, or reader accounts, you must:
- Moderate. Review and act on reports about content submitted by others on your Site.
- Publish your own policies — privacy, terms, and a cookie notice — that accurately describe your practices.
- Provide a way to be contacted about unlawful content, and act on valid notices promptly.
- Handle your Visitors’ data rights requests. You are the controller of that data; we are only your processor.
- Label commercial content. Sponsored posts, paid placements and affiliate links must be clearly disclosed.
- Keep your legal pages accurate. Any templates we provide are a starting point. They are not legal advice and have not been reviewed for your situation.
5. Reporting a violation
Report abuse to abuse@postlyo.com with the URL of the content, a description of the violation and which part of this Policy it breaches, your contact details, and any supporting evidence.
- For copyright specifically, use our DMCA / Copyright Complaint Policy.
- For child sexual abuse material, report to abuse@postlyo.com marked URGENT — CSAM. We treat these as our highest priority.
We acknowledge reports and investigate. We do not always report the outcome back to the reporter, as we may be constrained by privacy obligations to the account holder.
6. How we enforce
Depending on severity, history, and whether the conduct appears deliberate, we may:
- Contact you and ask you to fix the issue;
- Remove or disable access to specific content;
- Restrict a feature;
- Suspend the Site or the account;
- Terminate the account; or
- Report the matter to law enforcement or a regulator.
Notice, and the exception to it
We will normally give notice and a chance to fix the problem before suspending or terminating. We will act immediately and without notice where the content or conduct is unlawful, creates a risk of imminent harm to any person, threatens the security or integrity of the Service, or where notice would be impractical or would increase the harm.
Repeat violations. We maintain a repeat-infringer policy and will terminate accounts that repeatedly breach this Policy or repeatedly infringe copyright.
Appeals. If you believe an enforcement decision was wrong, write to legal@postlyo.com with the account details and your explanation. We will have the decision reviewed and respond within a reasonable period. If content was removed in error, we will restore it.
No refunds are due for accounts terminated for breach of this Policy.
7. Our position on monitoring
We do not pre-screen content, and we are under no obligation to monitor it. Where we act, we do so on notice, or on detection through automated abuse and security signals. Choosing to act in one case does not create an obligation to act in every case, and does not make us the publisher of anything a customer publishes.
