Refund & Cancellation Policy
How to cancel, what happens to your data, and when we refund.
Your statutory rights come first
This Policy cannot take away rights the law gives you. If you are a consumer, statutory rights — including any cooling-off or withdrawal right in your country — apply in addition to what is written here and prevail where they conflict.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to paid subscriptions purchased directly from us. It does not apply to purchases made through a reseller or app marketplace, which are governed by that party’s terms. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
2. Cancelling your subscription
2.1 How
Cancel at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Billing, or by emailing billing@postlyo.com from the address on your account.
2.2 What happens
- Cancellation stops the next renewal. It is not retroactive.
- You keep access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. We do not cut service off on the day you cancel.
- At the end of that period your subscription ends, your Sites stop being served, and the retention clock in our Data Retention Policy starts.
Export your content before access ends
After the retention window closes, deletion is permanent and irreversible. We cannot restore a deleted account as a goodwill gesture, because the data no longer exists.
2.3 Reactivation
You may resubscribe at any time. Within the retention window we will restore your content where technically possible. After the window, your data is gone and cannot be recovered.
3. Refunds
3.1 Our refund window
To be completed by the website owner — this must match what your checkout page says and what you actually do. Choose either a money-back guarantee (e.g. “request a refund within 14 days of your first paid payment and we will refund it in full”) or a no-refund position supported by a free trial.
3.2 Refunds we give regardless of the window
| Situation | Remedy |
|---|---|
| Duplicate charge — you were billed twice for the same period | Full refund of the duplicate |
| Billing error on our side — wrong amount, or charged after a valid cancellation | Refund of the incorrect amount |
| Unauthorised charge you did not authorise and no User of your account made | Full refund, following investigation |
| Material failure — the Service was materially unavailable for a sustained period through our fault | Pro-rata refund or service credit for the affected period |
| We materially reduce a paid Plan's core functionality | Pro-rata refund of prepaid, unused fees |
| We terminate your account without cause | Pro-rata refund of prepaid, unused fees |
3.3 What we do not refund
- Fees for a billing period already substantially used, outside the window in 3.1.
- Charges arising because you forgot to cancel before a renewal date, except where the law provides otherwise. We send renewal reminders — see section 6.
- Accounts terminated for breach of the Terms or Acceptable Use Policy.
- Fees where a chargeback has already been initiated and is being processed, to avoid a double credit.
4. Upgrades, downgrades and plan changes
- Upgrade — takes effect immediately. You are charged the difference for the remainder of the current period, calculated pro-rata.
- Downgrade — takes effect at the next renewal. We do not refund the difference for the current period. Check that your usage fits within the lower plan’s allowances before downgrading.
- Trial to paid — see Terms of Service section 6.
5. How to request a refund
- Email billing@postlyo.com from the email address on your account.
- Include your account or site name, the transaction date and amount, and the reason for the request.
- We will acknowledge within 2 business days and decide within 7 business days.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. We cannot send a refund anywhere else.
- Once issued, funds typically reach you within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer. That final leg is outside our control.
If we decline, we will tell you why. You may ask for the decision to be reviewed by writing to legal@postlyo.com.
6. Renewal reminders
We email a reminder to the address on your account before each subscription renewal, and before any trial converts to a paid plan. Keep your email address current.
To be completed by the website owner — confirm the reminder is actually sent and state the lead time (e.g. “at least 7 days before renewal”). Several jurisdictions regulate automatic-renewal notices. Do not describe a reminder you do not send.
7. Consumer cooling-off rights
European Union / United Kingdom. Consumers generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. For digital services, that right is lost once performance has begun only if you expressly requested immediate performance and acknowledged that you would lose the right.
India and other jurisdictions. To be completed by the website owner.
8. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank — we can usually resolve it faster.
If a chargeback is raised, we may suspend the account while the dispute is investigated, and will provide the payment provider with the transaction records. If a chargeback is decided in your favour we will not additionally refund the same amount. Repeatedly initiating chargebacks for authorised charges may result in termination.
9. Taxes
Refunds include any tax originally charged, where the applicable tax authority permits recovery. Where they do not, we will refund the net amount and explain the difference.
